What we target
We are building this site to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. That is the floor for us, not the ceiling. We test pages with keyboard navigation, with screen readers (VoiceOver and TalkBack), and at 200% browser zoom.
What that means in practice
- Every page has a clear heading structure, a skip-to-content link, and visible focus rings on interactive elements.
- Body text meets at least AA contrast against the page surface, and most of the time it meets AAA.
- Forms have visible labels (not just placeholders) and announce errors meaningfully.
- Reduced-motion preferences are respected — page-arrival animations do not run if your operating system says you would rather they didn't.
- Italian dish names are marked up with
lang="it"so screen readers pronounce them correctly.
What we know is incomplete
Third-party booking and checkout services (OpenTable, Toast) sit inside our pages. We do not fully control their interfaces, and we have flagged accessibility audits of those embeds as launch work. If you can't complete a reservation or a purchase through the embed, please use the phone fallback we keep visible on the same page.
Tell us when something is broken
If something on this site is not working for you, please let us know. Email hello@ancoramontecito.com or call us at 805-555-0100. We treat accessibility issues as production bugs, not as nice-to-haves.
